Approaching the one month mark

As I write this, it is July 28. August looms close in our future. Our event starts August 31 and registration will begin about two weeks before that.
The worker bees of Romance Unleashed are busy collecting prizes and getting the word out to prospective participants. We have several guest bloggers lined up to share their wit and wisdom on subjects related to writing and reading (we’ll reveal some of their names in our next post). The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is working on a new Event page for us.
Things are coming together nicely at our end. We feel like hosts getting ready for a party. Sweeping the floors, stocking the bar, hanging the balloons. No matter how pretty we make it–no matter how tasty the hors d’oeuvres–our party’s success really depends on the guests.
We had an awesome bunch of participants last year–readers and writers. Folks who knew someone with cystic fibrosis and many who simply feel the sympathy for the cause. We’re counting on even more folks joining us this year.
Pass the word along to all your friends. It’s a great way to meet your writing goals. A fun excuse to curl up with a good book for a great cause. A way to win prizes, be part of a team and challenge your friends.
Together we can harness the power of story to change the grim reality of cystic fibrosis into a happy ending for generations to come!
